My name is Michelle Barglind and I am the Spanish teacher at Wausaukee. I am from Iron Mountain, Michigan. I attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. My second year at the University of St. Thomas, I decided to transfer to Northern Michigan University in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Living in the Twin Cities for two years made me appreciate the beauty of living in small communities.

​I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Secondary Education Spanish major and a Secondary Education Mathematics minor.

In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and waterskiing. In addition, I love traveling. In high school, I traveled to Costa Rica with my school's Spanish Club. During January 2015, I volunteered at a school in Quito Ecuador. Another valuable travel experience was my study abroad experience. May of 2016, I studied at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. After finishing the study abroad program, I was able to travel to various cities in Spain. These experiences have been very beneficial to my education and to my career. I look forward to sharing this knowledge and experiences with the students at Wausaukee.
